    A5 β€” the desk-and-shelf keepsake

A5 (14.8 Γ— 21 cm / roughly 6 Γ— 8 inches) is our smallest print. It suits a bedside table, a bookshelf, a home-office desk or a small kitchen frame gallery. Best viewed from within about a metre β€” close enough to see every brushstroke. A popular choice for stocking fillers, memorial keepsakes and secondary prints when you already have a larger portrait on the wall.

A4 β€” the classic frame size

A4 (21 Γ— 29.7 cm / roughly 8 Γ— 12 inches) is the size most high-street frames are built for, which makes it the easiest to re-frame later. It reads beautifully in a hallway gallery wall, above a desk, or as part of a set of three across a mantelpiece. Ideal viewing distance is about one to one-and-a-half metres.

A3 β€” our most popular size

A3 (29.7 Γ— 42 cm / roughly 12 Γ— 16 inches) is where a Furcasso portrait really starts to feel like art rather than a print. Big enough to command a living-room wall on its own, small enough to sit comfortably above a console table or in a bedroom. We recommend a generous mount (5–7 cm) and a slim black or natural oak frame for a gallery-grade finish. Viewing distance: 1.5 to 2 metres.

    A2 β€” statement size

A2 (42 Γ— 59.4 cm / roughly 16 Γ— 23 inches) is a proper statement piece. It works above a sofa, a fireplace, or as the centre of a gallery wall. At this size the museum-grade matte paper and archival inks really show β€” subtle tonal shifts in fur and background come through with painterly depth. Best viewed from two to three metres back.

    A1 β€” gallery scale

A1 (59.4 Γ— 84.1 cm / roughly 23 Γ— 33 inches) is our largest paper size. It turns a portrait of your pet into the focal point of a room. Consider a wide float mount and a substantial frame β€” chunky black, deep walnut or a wide natural oak all suit the scale. Hang it as you would a gallery piece, with the centre of the image at eye level (around 145 cm from the floor), and step back to at least three metres to take it in.

    Framing tips

All Furcasso digital files are supplied at high resolution with a small safe margin around the subject, so any standard mount cut for A-sizes will work without cropping. If in doubt, size up rather than down β€” a portrait almost always looks better slightly too large than slightly too small. For framed prints ordered directly from us, sizing, mount and glazing are handled for you and the print arrives ready to hang.
